LuaLua back in Blackpool fold

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has revealed why Lomana LuaLua was left out of his squad on Saturday, but insists the issue is now resolved.

Missed meeting cost striker place in squad

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has revealed the reasons why Lomana LuaLua was left out of his squad on Saturday, but insists the issue is now resolved. The former Newcastle and Portsmouth striker signed for the Seasiders in September and has made a solid start to life at the Championship club, scoring two goals in as many starts. However, the 30-year-old was left out of Holloway's squad completely for the 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough at the weekend. The Seasiders boss later revealed that the forward was dropped because he had missed a pre-match team meeting. Holloway also stressed his belief that there would be no repeat and LuaLua is set for a recall for their next game.

Business

"I was waiting to give my final delivery at the hotel and for some reason he wasn't there," Holloway told the club's official website. "He was in a room on his own and we had to leave. He didn't turn up for that meeting. It's important the Blackpool fans know that I mean business. "Hopefully we're over this blip. I think he's a wonderful person and I really like him as a footballer. "I'm sure he'll be on time in the future."
