Brown keen to extend keeper's contract until the New Year

Preston North End manager Phil Brown is hoping to extend the short-term contract of goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann until January. Stuckmann joined the League One club after impressing on trial, but is currently only due to stay at Deepdale until 3rd December. The German has made two appearances for Preston to date and Brown is keen to agree an extension until the New Year before reassessing the situation. "The contract which Thorsten has at the moment carries us beyond the current loan window, which shuts next week," Brown told the Lancashire Evening Post. "If there is an extension, that would take us into the January transfer window when we can look at it again. "After his performances in the last two games, it would be remiss of us not to extend it until January. "We are talking with his agent at the moment and hopefully there will be a positive outcome to that."
