Hartlepool strikers Colin Nish and Colin Larkin both face lengthy spells on the sidelines after learning they require knee surgery.
Nish tore his cartilage during training last Friday and will be out for up to six weeks, while Larkin will have an exploratory operation to learn the full extent of his damage after struggling with the problem since the end of September.
Pools manager Mick Wadsworth told the club's official website: "We had a pretty rough ride earlier in the season with injuries and suspension and we coped with it well, so I'm sure we can do it again.
"It's not ideal having Colin Nish and Colin Larkin out of action, but Andy Monkhouse and James Poole are showing signs of building a good partnership and we also have other players who can come in too.
"It's disappointing for them to be out for a while, but we'll get them right and hopefully they will come back stronger and raring to go."
