Miller hungry for more goals

The Cardiff City man bagged his 16th and best international strike with a stunning effort from the edge of the area after a tremendous touch to bring down Christophe Berra's long diagonal ball over the top.

The 31-year-old, who won his 58th cap in the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium went ahead of James McFadden in sixth place on Scotland's all-time goalscorers list.

Only Denis Law, Kenny Dalglish, Hughie Gallacher, Lawrie Reilly and Ally McCoist have scored more goals than the former Rangers and Celtic forward.

And Miller has promised to carry on as Scotland prepare for their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Delighted

"I missed the last three internationals so it was nice to get back in the team and get playing again with the boys," Miller said.

"Getting the goal, I was delighted. Hopefully there will be a few more to come.

"It's always nice to score but you're not really thinking about edging past anyone. I just want to keep playing as long as I can and score as many as I can.

"I've got another campaign to look forward to. As long as I'm still playing and performing for the team, hopefully I will score as many goals as I can."

Miller agreed the goal was his best in a Scotland jersey.

"It's always pleasing when you work on things through the week and highlight areas where you can get at them, and it comes off," he added.

"It was a fantastic diagonal from big Christophe and I managed to get a good touch on it and a decent finish, I was over the moon with it."
