Fulham defender Zdenek Grygera is facing six months on the sidelines after rupturing knee ligaments in the defeat by Tottenham on Sunday.
The Czech Republic international sustained the injury shortly before half-time of Sunday's 3-1 reverse at Craven Cottage and was carried from the field after an innocuous challenge with Gareth Bale.
Further examinations have revealed that the former Sparta Prague, Ajax and Juventus man sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage in the incident.
Grygera, who moved to the Premier League club on a free transfer in the summer, is now facing a long road back to full fitness with Martin Jol's men.
Rehabilitation
A statement on Fulham's official website read: "The club can confirm that Zdenek Grygera suffered an ACL rupture during the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 6 November.
"It is estimated that the recovery period for an injury of this nature is approximately six months.
"The club will update further on Zdenek's progress during the course of his rehabilitation."
The 31-year-old has started five Premier League contests for Jol's side this season, helping the Cottagers to keep clean sheets in three of those outings.
