Coventry have been rocked by the news that striker Roy O'Donovan is set to be sidelined for at least a month after sustaining a broken foot.
Scans revealed O'Donovan has a fractured bone and could be missing for the Sky Blues until Christmas.
The 26-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a regular at the Ricoh Arena since joining the club from Sunderland in June 2010.
But manager Andy Thorn would have been desperate to have as many attacking options at his disposal as possible after Saturday's 4-2 defeat at home to Southampton left Coventry joint bottom of the table.
The club has some received better news on Chris Hussey, as the left-back has recovered from his foot problem and is likely to be available for the match against West Ham United a week on Saturday
Sky Blues boss Andy Thorn revealed Hussey was making good progress in training.
Thorn said: "He ran past me this morning so he should be back for the West Ham game."
