Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith remains of the firm belief that Gus Poyet's squad are good enough to win promotion.

The Seagulls began the season in fine form on the back of promotion, winning five of their first seven league games.

Although Sunday's 2-0 win over Barnsley was their first success in 10 outings, Mackail-Smith thinks his team-mates have the quality needed.

Good enough

"I think we've got a good enough squad," he told Sky Sports. "We showed in the first few games what we're capable of.

"I think in the Championship it's those fine margins. One mistake, or missing one chance and it costs you points.

"We've got a win on Sunday, our first in ten, which was a great relief for everyone and I think we'll push on now."
