Noel Hunt has vowed to keep striving for improvement after netting the winning goal for Reading against Birmingham on Sunday.
Hunt has had a frustrating season with the Royals, finding himself in and out of the starting XI on a regular basis - but he came off the bench to net the first goal Birmingham had conceded in 500 minutes and secure his side a valuable three-point haul.
Hunt thinks that was just rewards for the effort he has been putting in on the training ground, but he plans to keep working hard to justify his place in Reading boss Brian McDermott's plans.
"I know I'll stay in all week and train, try and keep my match fitness and sharpness up," he told the club's official website.
"There's a friendly game on Wednesday and that I'll try and play in. I've got to just keep working hard on the training ground and see what happens."
McDermott said of Hunt: "His attitude has been first class even though he's not been starting."
