Shrewsbury are unlikely to appeal the red card shown to James Wallace in Saturday's 2-0 victory at Dagenham & Redbridge.
The midfielder only arrived on a month-long loan deal from Everton on Thursday but lasted just 25 minutes at Victoria Road following a lunge on Daggers striker Jon Nurse.
Manager Graham Turner told Town's official website: "90% of referees would have given just a yellow card for the challenge but this time the referee has gone with a red card.
"After looking back at the DVD, James catches the lad's standing foot and there isn't enough on there that would make an appeal worthwhile."
Wallace has been issued with a three-match suspension by the Football Association and will now miss Saturday's FA Cup tie at non-league Newport as well as the League Two games against Northampton and Morecambe, effectively ending his stay at the Greenhous Meadow unless an extension is agreed.
