Shrewsbury have acquired the services of Everton midfielder James Wallace on a month-long loan contract.
The England Under-20 international arrives at the League Two club as cover for Nicky Wroe, who is sidelined for the next few weeks with a groin injury.
Town manager Graham Turner told the club's official website: "James is a player we tried to sign over the summer but he stayed at Everton to see if he could make the breakthrough into the first team.
"He was subsequently picked for the England Under-20 side who travelled to the World Cup and that took him well into the summer. He's now recovered from the exertions of that tournament and a couple of slight injuries and is keen to join us and help our push.
"We saw James play for Stockport last season (on loan) and were impressed with him and have been keeping tabs on his progress and availability. He comes highly recommended by David Moyes both as a player and as a professional."
Wallace is set to make his Shrews debut in Saturday's fixture away to Dagenham and Redbridge.
