Corr returns to training

Striker Barry Corr has resumed training at League Two club Southend following a lengthy absence with a knee injury.

Corr scored 21 goals last season but was forced to miss the final game of the campaign at Wycombe because of the problem that has now kept him sidelined for seven months. "It was fantastic to see Barry back out there in full training with everyone else again on Tuesday," manager Paul Sturrock told the Echo. "We will now have to wait and see how his body reacts to the increased workload before we decide what to do next with him. "How he feels will dictate the next step but it is brilliant news for us that he is training again and also for himself as well, because it must have been a very frustrating time for him."
