Manchester City defender Stefan Savic insists that his team will be an even stronger force in the near future and he believes he is improving all the time whilst training with players like Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero.
The depth of quality Roberto Mancini has at his disposal was evident in their 5-2 Carling Cup victory over Wolves on Wednesday, as the manager changed the whole starting line-up that destroyed Manchester United 6-1.
Youth players such as Denis Suarez, Karim Rekik and Luca Scapuzzi helped prove that City have brilliance all the way through the squad.
Savic, who made his second start for the club, is delighted to be part of the squad and he believes that the Blues have a lot more to offer.
"It is fantastic to play for this club and the most important thing is that we continue to win," he said.
"I think we will improve from game to game and our play will be better and better. Our target if possible is to be champions of the Premier League, to go to the next round of the Champions League.
"Our aim is to win trophies, and the club expects that from us, and I think we have the quality to do that. But we need to stay with our feet on the ground and to continue to prove ourselves from game to game.
"The season isn't finished. There are a lot of games to play but I think we have the quality to be champions of the Premier League."
Savic added: "Can any team stop us? I think for now we are in good form but you never know what can happen.
"We need to play like earlier, like now, and to improve as a team. I hope we will continue this form and we will be the champions."
The Montenegro international, who played against England last month in the Euro 2012 qualifier, knows it is not going to be easy to get into the first team on a regular basis.
He said: "It will be hard but I came here to improve and I'm going well and improving from game to game, from training to training.
"You are always playing against fantastic players in training, Dzeko, Aguero, Nasri and more, and that's good for me in helping me to improve.
"I think I can learn a lot from the players at Manchester City. It is a pleasure for me and I will continue to work and prove to the manager that I can play in the starting XI.
"The Carling Cup is a great chance because some players don't get much of a chance in the Premier League and Champions League. That is their chance to prove to the manager that they deserve to play in those games."
The City boss was not surprised with his team's performance at Molineux and he insists the likes of Suarez, Rekik and Scapuzzi will gain valuable experience from the game.
Mancini said: "We played well and it was important because we changed all the players but I was very pleased with the performance. We had good players on the pitch - Kolo Toure, Nigel de Jong, Pablo Zabaleta, Edin Dzeko and more.
"With these players last year we were in third position in the Premier League and won the FA Cup. The young players that came into the side, they need to improve, play with the senior players sometime, because they are our future."
