Stevenage boss Graham Westley saluted a "solid, professional job" from his players as they recorded their first-ever win over Brentford.
Chris Beardsley grabbed the only goal of the League One clash in the 73rd minute to clinch a 1-0 success at Griffin Park on Tuesday night, taking his tally to five in all competitions this season.
"We obviously did our homework on them and knew they had lost a few at home, so we put them under pressure from the off," Westley said.
"I was delighted with the way we stuck to the task. We were very disciplined and worked hard for the whole 90 minutes. I can't remember them having a shot on target.
"Chris isn't known for having the best goal ratio but he's our top scorer this season and took his goal really well.
"I was delighted for them all."
