Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote is a doubt for the club's Premier League clash with Stoke next Monday after sustaining a knee injury at the weekend.
The Ivory Coast international completed 90 minutes for the high-flying Magpies in their 1-0 win over Wigan on Saturday.
However, he picked up a knock during the match and has already been ruled out of the side's Carling Cup tie at Blackburn on Wednesday.
The club have also confirmed that he is a doubt for their next Premier League game, where they travel to Stoke seeking to preserve their unbeaten start to the season.
The 25-year-old has been an ever-present in the league so far this campaign, forming a useful midfield partnership with summer signing Yohan Cabaye.
