Andrew Little has returned to Scottish Premier League leaders Rangers after suffering knee ligament damage while on loan at Port Vale.
The 22-year-old midfielder was injured during a 4-0 defeat to Morecambe at the weekend and will be assessed by the Murray Park medical team following his return to Glasgow.
Little's time at Ibrox was also blighted by injury and he had hoped for some much-needed first-team action before enduring this latest setback, but he has refused to rule out a return to Vale Park.
He told Rangers' official website: "I was looking to win the ball in the air for a flick-on when I realised I wasn't going to get there and I checked out and turned.
"As I did that one of my team-mates fell right on top of me and his full weight landed on my left knee. I could feel right away that something was wrong and I came off immediately.
"It's just typical of my luck but I just hope that it's not serious. I will see what Stevie Walker, the physio, says today.
"I still have nine and a half weeks left of the loan deal so I am hoping there is a chance that I can go back down.
"I was enjoying it there because I was getting some game time, but I will just have to wait and see."
