Mikele Leigertwood has warned Reading they need to tighten up at the back if they are to climb out of the bottom half and into the play-off picture.
The Antigua and Barbuda international scored the opener in his team's 1-1 draw with Championship leaders Southampton on Saturday.
But it was a failure to convert their dominance which annoyed Leigertwood, who was particularly peeved by the way they conceded once again.
"We've been playing well recently, have played teams at the top of the league and made them look average in certain parts," he told the Reading Post.
"We're pleased with our performance and hopefully we can pick up three points next time out.
"It's frustrating and we have to address conceding another sloppy goal.
"When we're on top of our game we know we're a match for anyone. We have to stay confident."
