Thiago Motta has revealed he would love to be reunited with Lionel Messi and believes if the Argentine ever left Barcelona he would choose to come to Inter Milan.
Motta spent time at Barca earlier in his career as Messi was coming through the ranks and just starting to establish himself as a superstar of the world game.
Motta left in 2007 but has stayed in touch with the 24-year-old and hopes one day to play alongside him once again.
The Italy international accepts that Messi is unlikely to leave Barca but would like to think the situation might change in the future.
"If Messi was to leave Barcelona then the first team he would join would be Inter," Motta told Inter Channel.
"He is still young, but sooner or later the moment for him to change will come."
Motta added: "I am a good friend of Messi, he is a simple guy and very humble."
