Oxford have signed Sheffield United striker Danny Philliskirk on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old will embark on his second stint at the Kassam Stadium after previously joining the U's on loan from Chelsea in 2010.

Oxford manager Chris Wilder told the club's official website: "We know all about Danny and what he can do. He's done very well for Sheffield United's reserve side.

"He knows the set-up here and what we'are trying to achieve and we're delighted that he's come back."

Philliskirk joined the Blades this summer and although he has struggled to break into the first team, he has scored seven goals in the reserve team.

Philliskirk has been brought in as an immediate replacement for Andy Haworth, who suffered an ankle injury last week, and will go straight into the squad for the trip to Gillingham.
