Jackson back with Robins

Striker Marlon Jackson has returned to Bristol City after his loan spell at Northampton came to a premature end.

Jackson joined the Cobblers on a youth loan on September 13, and was originally due to return to Ashton Gate on November 19. But, with a new manager expected to be named at City on Thursday, the 20-year-old has been recalled from his stint at Sixfields, where he netted once in six appearances. "It has been mutually agreed for Marlon to go back to Bristol," said Northampton boss Gary Johnson. "Bristol City are due to appoint a new manager soon and it's probably better for Marlon to be there before their new manager is in place. "Marlon is a young player with potential but there are things that he knows he has to work on. We thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future."
