Goalkeeper Steve Phillips is keen to open up talks with Crewe over a new contract.
The 33-year-old's current deal expires next summer and he hopes that the Alex will discuss terms with him over the coming months. He told the Crewe Chronicle: "It might be that I sit down with Dario (Gradi, Crewe manager) or the chairman around Christmas time and see what their plans are. "I wouldn't envisage Crewe speaking to me before then - they left a few of the boys until the summer last season. "When January comes around people who are out of contract can talk to other clubs, but at the moment I am just happy to play."
