Captain Jake Wright has signed a new contact with Oxford, keeping the defender at the Kassam Stadium until 2015.
The 25-year-old put pen to paper on a one-year extension to his current deal on Tuesday. Wright joined Oxford in June 2010 from Brighton following a successful loan spell.
He told the club's official website: "It is a massive honour to be captain at a club this big. I have been made to feel at home ever since I came through the doors.
"It is an ambitious club and I really want to be part of what is being built here.
"There is a really good buzz about the place right now and we are very together as a squad.
"I want to play at the highest level I can and would love that to be with Oxford United."
