Defender suffers injury setback

Southampton have decided to send defender Radhi Jaidi under the knife this week in an effort to help his recovery from a knee problem. The 36-year-old Tunisia international sustained the injury during the summer and has yet to appear for the Saints this season. Manager Nigel Adkins is keen to get to the bottom of the problem and Southampton have arranged for Jaidi to have a surgical procedure. "Big Radhi Jaidi is going to have an arthroscopy on Wednesday," Adkins told Radio Solent. "He hasn't recovered from the injury he picked up in pre-season so the surgeon will have a little look inside. We'll see what's wrong and hopefully that will help with his recovery." Jaidi joined Southampton on a free transfer from Birmingham in January 2009 and has made over 60 appearances.
