Brighton defender Tommy Elphick could be ruled out for the rest of the season after learning that he requires a second operation on his Achilles tendon.
The 24-year-old had initial surgery in the summer after rupturing his Achilles at Notts County at the end of last season.
He said on his Twitter account: "Hope to get my operation done...asap. re-ruptured due to poor original surgery! devastated!"
Brighton-born Elphick, who came through the club's youth system, was a regular in the Seagulls' promotion-winning side last season.
He made his debut in a 5-1 defeat at Reading as an 18-year-old in December 2005.
