Osasuna midfielder Masoud Shojaei could be sidelined for the rest of the season after undergoing a third operation on his broken foot.
The 27 year-old broke the fifth metatarsal of his left foot during a league match against Atletico Madrid in April this year and has since been operated on twice.
Unfortunately, the bones did not heal as well as expected and the Iran international will go under the knife again next week at Germany's Hessingpark Clinic.
Osasuna's chief doctor Patxi Cipriain is unsure of the player's recovery time but revealed that it would take at least four to five months.
"The attention now is to make sure that the affected area is healing well. I cannot confirm if he will be out for four to five months, or that he will miss the entire season," he said on Osasuna's website.
"We will need to wait for the assessment results."
