Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton claims he was told to moderate his comments on Twitter at a meeting with the Football Association.
Barton, who has become one of the biggest personalities on Twitter thanks to his controversial opinions, claims the FA asked him to moderate his language at a recent meeting.
But the midfielder has no plans to stop being controversial with tweets that have extended from football into political punditry.
Speaking at the Professional Players Federation national conference, Barton side: "I feel that the FA came to hush me down or make me not have an opinion.
"If they came to do that, they picked the wrong person, because there's no way I can be like that.
"If I didn't have an opinion, I'd cease to exist."
