Pompey eager to respond positively to recent wobble

David Norris is hoping a refreshed Portsmouth side can get back to winning ways against Barnsley on Saturday. The international break has given the Pompey squad an opportunity to recharge their batteries. A rest is just what they needed after suffering back-to-back defeats in the Championship. Setbacks against Leeds and Peterborough have seen the club slip to 19th in the second tier standings. Pressure is building at Fratton Park, but Norris believes a positive result against the Tykes this weekend will have the club heading in the right direction again. "The recent couple of losses make this game massive," he told the club's official website.

Consistent

"We can't afford to keep losing - especially at home. "The pressure's on us now and we have to step up to the plate. We have to turn things around. "There have been a few games this season where we should have got more, but we need to be more consistent. "As long as we give it our all then the fans accept it, but we really want to play well and win against Barnsley. "The game's on TV, so it's a chance to show everyone watching at home just what we can do."
