Demontagnac 'ready to step in'

Notts County forward Ishmel Demontagnac could get his chance to impress after loan star Cristian Montano returned to West Ham.

Colombian Montano scored four goals in 11 appearances during his two-month stay at Notts and boss Martin Allen was keen to keep the 19-year-old at Meadow Lane. West Ham were unwilling to extend the deal, though, leaving Allen scouring the market for another loan acquisition. But the former Leicester boss will not worry too much if his efforts prove in vain, insisting he already has a ready-made replacement in Demontagnac. "I've been on the phone non-stop since I knew Cristian was going back to West Ham and I've spoken to the chairman so we will wait to see what happens," said Allen. "If we don't sign anyone I have got a fantastic geezer called Ishmel Demontagnac. The fans haven't really seen him yet but he's ready to step in. He's gagging for a chance."
