Skysports.com understands Derby midfielder Jeff Hendrick is poised to sign a new deal at Pride Park.
Derby have moved to offer the Republic of Ireland Under 21 international a new improved deal to fend off interest from other clubs.
The 19-year-old's performances this season have alerted a number of Premier League clubs with the likes of Aston Villa and West Brom credited with an interest in Hendrick.
Hendrick, who made his first-team debut at the back end of last season, has established himself as a key player in Nigel Clough's plans this term.
He scored his first goal for the club in the win over bitter rivals Nottingham Forest and he also netted in the victory over Millwall.
The news will come as a big boost to Derby as they look to maintain their bid for promotion this season with the Rams currently sitting in third spot in the Championship table.
