Bolton Wanderers' injured star Lee Chung-yong could return to action as early as February next year.

The 23 year-old suffered a double fracture in his right shin during a pre-season friendly against Newport County in July and was expected to miss the current campaign.

However, Lee has made remarkable progress during his rehabilitation in South Korea and national team doctor Song Jun-sub believes the midfielder could make his Premier League comeback in four months if all goes to plan.

Speaking ahead of his flight back to England on Tuesday, Lee expressed his delight at his recovery and could not wait to kick a ball again for Bolton.

"I have made good progress and I will be match fit and back in games soon," he told The Chosunilbo.

The broken right shin is understood to be about 80 per cent healed and he can put 70 per cent of his distributed weight on his right leg when running.
