Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson is confident Grant McCann will be fit for Saturday's trip to Bristol City.
Midfielder McCann pulled out of the Northern Ireland squad ahead of their European Championship qualifier in Italy due to a groin injury.
However, Ferguson has played down any concerns about him not being available for this weekend's match at Ashton Gate as Posh resume Championship action.
"Grant felt a little problem with his groin on Saturday morning and, as Northern Ireland can no longer qualify for the European Championships, he felt it best to take no chances and pull out of the Italy game," Ferguson told the Evening Telegraph.
"We are confident he will be okay for Saturday. We have all had a bit of a rest because of the international matches and we are raring to go."
