Aston Villa assistant manager Peter Grant has expressed his delight at how well on-loan midfielder Jermaine Jenas is recovering from injury.
The 28-year-old, who joined from Tottenham in the summer, has yet to make his debut as he sits on sidelines with an Achilles injury.
Jenas has been chomping at the bit in order to impress his new employers, however, Grant does not want the midfielder rushing his recovery.
The former Newcastle man has been responding well to treatment and Grant believes the international break has come at the right time for Jenas.
"Of course we have got a break now for the internationals and we hope that will help speed up his recovery," Grant told the club's official website.
"He is in very good hands here with the physios and the doctor and we are delighted that he seems to be responding quickly.
"We have seen it before where boys are desperate to play and try to rush themselves to get fit - more so in Jermaine's case because the supporters haven't seen him yet."
