Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has been ruled out of Northern Ireland's Euro 2012 double-header against Estonia and Italy due to injury.
Despite playing against Norwich, the centre-back has been struggling with an ankle problem and missed United's matches against Stoke and Basel.
And disappointed Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington has now confirmed United have decided Evans would be better to miss this week's international duty.
"Jonny's not here and won't be here," said the Northern Ireland boss. "He's had this ongoing ankle problem and came off in the warm-up the other week.
"He did play at the weekend but the feeling at his club is he does need rest and recuperation.
"So we accept that and move on."
Evans becomes the fourth player to withdraw from the squad after retiring captain Aaron Hughes (groin), Josh McQuoid (virus) and Jamie Ward (hamstring).
