Birmingham have extended the loan stay of West Brom striker Chris Wood for a further three months.

Wood has impressed during his first two months at St Andrew's and the Championship club have moved to keep him until January.

The New Zealand international, who has scored eight goals in 11 appearances for Birmingham, was happy to extend his stay with Chris Hughton's men.

Settled in

"I'm very pleased the loan has been extended," Wood told the club's official website. "I've settled in really well here and all of the lads - who are a great bunch - have really taken to me

"I'm very pleased to have scored the goals that I have but it's only the start. Together we have to keep putting in the performances and picking up the results to move up the league."

Hughton was delighted to keep hold of the 19-year-old and hopes he can maintain his rich vein of form in front of goal.

"We are delighted the loan has been extended as it's one that has worked very well for the player and for the club," noted Hughton.

"This has continued our good working relationship with West Brom.

"Hopefully Chris can continue in the same vein as he has done so far."
