Marcel Brands says Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's return to PSV Eindhoven is a 'win-win situation' for both the forward and the club's youngsters.

The 32-year-old, who spent five seasons with the Eredivisie giants earlier in his career, has been training in Eindhoven following his release by Rapid Vienna.

Brands told De Telegraaf of the former Hull City and Celtic man: "Jan is a positive former PSV player with a great track record.

"Such an experienced player will help a number of our young boys. This is a win-win situation and we'll see how this will develop."

Brands did warn however: "If a club offers money for him tomorrow then he will be gone."

Discussing the possibility of PSV offering Vennegoor of Hesselink - who won three Eredivisie titles at the Philips Stadion between 2001 and 2006 - a new contract, Brands added: "At the moment we have no budget confirmed for January.

"We have so far stayed within the budget and we would like to keep it that way."
