Paolo Di Canio says Swindon are earning a reputation as cup specialists after their 2-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Exeter.

Jake Jervis emerged as the Robins' hero with two goals on his full debut and the scalp of Exeter can now be added to that of Bristol City, who were knocked out of the Carling Cup by Di Canio's side.

"Maybe we are becoming a cup team, you know?" the Italian joked. "We are becoming a team that win away in the cup, but I am very happy even if it does not count for the three points.

"It might not count for the league, but it is very important because we wanted to win. We played against a very good side and they like to play football. They put us under a lot of pressure, especially in the last 25 minutes.

"It was very hard to handle the situation because they gave it everything and we had a lot of tired players on the field. It was difficult in the end, but I think we deserved it after our first-half performance. We only created three or four chances, but we scored twice, so I am very happy"
