Moussa Sow admits he has not held contract discussions at Lille since the summer, but insists there is still every chance he will sign.
The Senegalese forward is tied to the reigning French champions until 2013, but a contract extension has been in the pipeline for some time.
Lille are keen to tie their key men down on long-term agreements and consider Sow to be a prized asset.
They have, however, put discussions to one side since the 2011/12 campaign got underway.
Sow is prepared to wait for talks to be re-opened and has sought to play down fears that he could soon follow former team-mate Gervinho out of the club.
"Talks about an extension? We have not talked since the summer," he told L'Equipe.
"But I am not upset about that. I am not holding out for anything. I am playing at the moment and we will see what happens.
"I feel happy at Lille and I don't think about a new contract all the time. It is only October.
"I don't know what will happen at the end of the season. I don't know if I will stay or go. What I do know is that I am a Lille player now and I am happy to be here."
