Stuttgart manager Bruno Labbadia does not expect Germany youth international Bernd Leno to be sold to Bayer Leverkusen.
The 19-year-old is on loan at BayArena until the end of December and has been featuring in the first team, which would be unlikely at Stuttgart, where Sven Ulreich is the No.1.
Stuttgart general manager Fredi Bobic last week admitted the club could consider allowing Leno to leave on a permanent basis at the end of his loan.
But Labbadia told Sport1 television: "We want to have competition for the position between our sticks. So we want Bernd Leno to return.
"Bernd Leno has to face the competition for a spot in the line-up, just because we have a great goalkeeper in Sven Ulreich.
"Sven Ulreich is progressing after he went through some tough times. At this very moment, we have agreed to see Bernd Leno back at Stuttgart after Christmas."
