Marc Tierney believes Norwich's performance against Manchester United proved they can stay up in the Premier League this season.
The Canaries pushed United close at Old Trafford on Saturday before the hosts ran out 2-0 winners.
Paul Lambert's side missed a couple of glorious chances to score with Anthony Pilkington wasting a great opportunity just before United opened the scoring.
Full-back Tierney believes Norwich can take plenty of positives from the defeat as they head into the international break before then facing fellow new boys Swansea at Carrow Road on 15th October.
"I think if you ask any of the [United] players in their dressing room and they'd say they have been in a right good game," said Tierney.
"It was 0-0 at half-time; we were working them very hard; hitting them on the break on numerous occasions.
"On any other day some of those go in for you and, who knows?"
Tierney added: "I think we have got to take a lot of confidence from that for the rest of the season.
"Hopefully, we can reach those heights in every game and if we do that, we should not do too badly."
