Exeter City have boosted their midfield options by signing the veteran Matt Oakley on a month's loan from Leicester City.
Oakley has only featured in the Carling Cup for Leicester this season and has jumped at the opportunity to play first-team football.
The 34-year-old is in line to make his debut against Oldham Athletic on Saturday and he is happy to have linked up with Paul Tisdale's Exeter squad.
"It's very good to be here," Oakley, who was recently linked with a loan move to former club Derby County, told the club's official website.
"I had a phone call from Paul and he asked me for some help and I said if the club agreed then I'd do it. It was quite a simple conversation.
"I was impressed with training this morning, the professionalism, the set up and the targets. He explained that they needed some experience and that was part of the brief to me.
"The challenge that Paul has given me is an exciting one, I want to work with the players and help them."
Tisdale added: "I'm very happy that Matt has been able to sign for us. It boosts the team and I think it is safe to say Matt had interest from clubs of a higher stature than us.
"We are in the process of building a team and at the moment we need someone with a bit of experience who can make good decisions and Matt was an ideal choice.
"It's an emergency loan which means he will be here for a minimum of 28 days but he could be here until the January transfer window. It's flexible at the moment and we hope it will be more long term than short."
