Ipswich Town have clinched the loan signing of Manchester City's young defender Reece Wabara until January.
The 19-year-old will go straight into the squad to play Brighton in the Championship on Saturday.
Capped by England Under-20s, Wabara made his Premier League debut as a substitute for Roberto Mancini's side against Bolton on the final day of last season.
The Tractor Boys have improved in recent weeks and have not conceded a goal in their last three outings.
The Suffolk-based club are 12th in the Championship and know that a win against the Seagulls could lift them up to the play-off places.
Quick and strong
Manager Paul Jewell said: "We're pleased to have Reece here.
"He's quick and strong and although he can play in the middle of the defence, I see him as a right-back here - someone who can give competition to Carlos Edwards in that position.
"I spoke to (City coach) David Platt about him at length and they think he will be good enough for their team eventually."
