Hoops striker hoping to impress Capello

Gary Hooper believes he could force his way into the England squad if Fabio Capello takes the time to come and watch him in action. The striker has enjoyed a prolific spell at Celtic and already has five goals to his name this season. He hopes another in a Europa League clash with Udinese on Thursday will help to raise his profile even further. Should he continue to find the target on a regular basis, Hooper feels international recognition could be on the cards. At 23 years of age he could form part of the Three Lions set-up for years to come and has called on Capello to take a chance on a player plying their trade in the SPL. He said: "Do I think it's possible to get into the England set-up while I'm playing for Celtic? Yeah, I do. "If you score goals it's going to get back to England. We have big games coming up in Europe so maybe that will help get me noticed. "I feel ready to play for England - that's the aim. It would be nice if Fabio Capello came and watched me."
