Burnley captain Chris McCann says his injury nightmare is finally behind him and he is close to rediscovering his best form.
The 24-year-old midfielder returned to action in April after almost 18 months out with a knee problem.
McCann gave arguably his best performance of the season in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Southampton.
"I started to feel like I was coming back to my old self," McCann told the club's official website.
McCann has featured for Burnley in pre-season but feels regular football is what he needs to keep improving.
"Coming back as captain, probably the spotlight has been on me a little bit more and I probably needed that first couple of weeks of playing a couple of times a week," he said.
"But I feel like I am starting to come back and play some nice football and play the way I can play."
