David Bentley admits it is his goal this season to help West Ham win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
England international Bentley joined the Hammers on loan from Tottenham on transfer deadline day after finding himself out of favour at White Hart Lane.
Bentley has made three substitute appearances since his arrival in East London and he is determined to help fire the Upton Park club back to the top flight this term.
"We have got to be confident, we are the big team in the league," Bentley told Sky Sports News.
"We have got good players with a lot of ability and we are looking to get promoted and automatic promotion is our goal.
"As long as we stay professional, fit and ready, I think we will be alright.
"I have set myself a goal and this is going to be hard work and it will be an achievement if we can get West Ham back up in the Premier League and that's what my goal this season is to do.
"Everyone's goal is to play in the Premier League, at the highest level, the Champions League and for England as well, and I have come here and this is my goal this season and that's what I will be looking to do."
