Experienced striker Mikael Forssell has penned a deal at Leeds that will run until the end of the season.
The former Chelsea and Birmingham striker has been training with the Whites over the past few weeks after dropping into the free agent pool.
Having severed ties with Hannover over the summer, after three years with the Bundesliga outfit, he was looking to take on a new challenge.
An opportunity at Elland Road has arisen and both sides of the agreement are delighted to have struck a deal.
Forssell is a player with proven Premier League pedigree, while he was among the goals at international level again last week for Finland.
Leeds boss Simon Grayson believes the 30-year-old will prove to be a shrewd acquisition and is looking forward to working with him.
"Mikael has been training with us for a few weeks now and we have seen what he is all about," Grayson told the club's official website.
"He has shown his qualities and we know what he will bring.
"He is hungry and has a desire, and he will be a welcome addition to our squad."
