Guirane N'Daw insists he was happy to join Birmingham City and wants to play his part in helping the club clinch a return to the Premier League.
The Senegal international, who can play in midfield or defence, joined Blues last month on loan until January from St Etienne, with the option to extend the deal until the end of the season.
He already has his sights set on a long-term stay at St Andrew's and is determined to play an important role in Birmingham's success this season.
N'Daw told the Birmingham Mail: "For me Birmingham are a big club, a big name, with some big players. That's why when I heard about their interest I was very happy to join.
"The club isn't about one player. I don't really like to talk about myself.
"I will help the club get promoted. I think definitely we can do that, as soon as possible.
"That's what I want to bring to Birmingham, that's what I want to achieve and I'd like to stay here for as long as I can."
