Legendary Juve forward yet to set retirement date

Alessandro Del Piero claims to have given no thought to retirement, but has hinted that the current campaign may be his last. The World Cup winner is now 36 years old and appreciates that he is very much in the twilight of his career. He is, however, as committed to the Juventus cause as he has been throughout his 18 years with the Turin giants and is refusing to contemplate hanging up his boots just yet. Del Piero has refused to rule out the possibility of stepping aside next summer, but insists that is an issue which can be discussed at a later date. "The idea that this might be my last year is not a recurring thought, but it does push me to give 200 per cent," the former Italy international told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Everything that happens to me, I try to use to make sure I am better the next day. "But I have not yet decided whether this will be my last year with Juventus."
