Blackburn defender Scott Dann hopes his move to Ewood Park can boost his chances of breaking into the England squad
Dann joined Rovers on transfer deadline day from Birmingham and he has now revealed that one of the main reasons for making the move was to stay in the spotlight of Fabio Capello for international consideration.
The former England Under 21 watched on from the sidelines at the end of last season due to injury as the Blues went from celebrating winning the Carling Cup and occupying a relatively safe position in the Premier League to a spot in the bottom three and relegation.
"Being injured is hard enough and then having to deal with being relegated, albeit I couldn't really do much about that for the last couple of months being injured, you still feel part of it and it's not a nice feeling," Dann told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
Ambition
"Obviously it's an ambition of mine to play for England and hopefully I can do that in the future.
"Hopefully coming to a club like Blackburn can help me do that.
"I haven't played much football lately because of all the things going on and all the speculation but I'm more determined than ever to play football.
"I don't think I've ever been more determined. I'm just looking forward to it and I can't wait to get going."
