Sunderland have confirmed the signing of Nicklas Bendtner from Arsenal on a season-long loan.
Stadium of Light boss Steve Bruce finally got his man, with a deal announced late on Wednesday night as the 11pm transfer deadline loomed.
Bendtner clinched a temporary move to Sunderland after being told he was not part of Arsene Wenger's plans and he will be reunited with Bruce, who he worked with at Birmingham.
Bruce will hope the 23-year-old will bring the goals Sunderland have been lacking to date this season and provide a foil for Asamoah Gyan, who himself was the subject of interest from Turkey during the final days of the transfer window.
The Sunderland boss told his club's official website: "I've had the privilege of working with Nicklas previously. I had him as an 18-year-old and he helped clinch promotion for Birmingham.
"He's an outstanding talent and is a big, physical presence who will lead the line magnificently for us."
