Ajax have signed Russia striker Dmitri Bulykin from Belgian side Anderlecht on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old joined Anderlecht in 2008 from German side Bayer Leverkusen but failed to force his way into the first team at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, eventually joining Fortuna Dusseldorf and then ADO Den Haag on two separate season-long loans.
Bulykin hit 21 goals for Den Haag in the Eredivisie last season, which immediately caught the eye of Ajax.
The Dutch giants were initially unwilling to meet the €1million fee Anderlecht were demanding for the striker, whose wage demands also proved problematic, meaning the move was in severe doubt.
However, Anderlecht eventually agreed to let the player go for free in an effort to force through a deal.
