Striker leaves Forest for two-year deal at Vicarage Road

Watford have completed the signing of Joe Garner from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee. Skysports.com revealed earlier on deadline day that the Hornets were lining up a move for the former Carlisle United forward. Garner has spent the past three years at Forest and scored 10 goals in 55 appearances during his time at the City Ground. However, he undertook spells on loan at Huddersfield Town and Scunthorpe United last term, and had featured four times under new Forest boss Steve McClaren this season. The 23-year-old has now been allowed to leave Forest permanently and he has signed a two-year contract at Watford. His arrival at Vicarage Road will provide the Hornets' attack with a boost following the summer departure of last season's top scorer Danny Graham to Swansea City.
